Vastu Worship/Puja Room Tips


 



For the shining future and security of their children our elders built few principles and rules in the ancient age. Vastu Shastra is one of them. In the Vastu Shastra our ancestors in a roundabout way told about the Northern – Eastern part of the house. In our country, India, there are many superstitions. As an example- some belief sneezing is unholy at the time of beginning journey. It is preferable to sit for a time and then continue the journey. If a cat is crossing over the road then we think it is bad indication. So we stand there for a while. These kind of blind faiths are governed us. In the abroad cats are considered as a domestic pet. Few countries believed that cat’s crossing is auspicious. We may not judge them. Blind beliefs are beliefs. It is nothing but foolishness. In this way there is some wrong thinking about the Puja Room in our house.

Worship Room or Puja Ghar is the most important point in Vaastu. If the puja room is placed in wrong place then that causes very serious Vaastu defect. There is no solution or way-out of this other than moving puja Ghar in the right place.

  • The Worship Room or Puja Ghar should be in the north-east corner of the building only. East (but not south-east) and North (but not north-west) sides are also Ok for Puja Ghar.


  • The Northern – Eastern part of a house is very subtle. It cannot be tolerate heavy weights. This is the reason of our giving much importance on the Northern – Eastern side.


  • Room should be white in colour and the floor will be white, light yellow coloured wall is also ok


  • Idol should be facing south or west, so that when we pray we should face north or east


  • The idol should not be the in front of the entrance gate


  • Idols should be touched the wall but at least be in an inch away from the wall


  • Showcase should be either on west or south wall of this room


  • Puja Ghar should have wooden Door with two shutter door and the door can have some auspicious signs like Swastik ( ) designed in the door


  • If there’re is a place for Agni Kand, then that should be done in the south east corner of the room and the person should be sit facing towards east


  • Bedroom should not have the Puja Ghar, if there is no alternative, then only Childs can sleep in this room


  • Doors or windows in the Puja Ghar should be in the south or west side of the room


  • If there is any paintings or photos placed in the wall of the Puja Ghar, then it has to be selected carefully and no violence photos, scary photos, human, animals, birds, photos should be in the Puja Ghar


  • Lamp, candle, Diya should be placed in the east side or south-east side


  • Puja room should not be in the South, West, South-west or north-west corner of the house


  • Most auspicious Puja Ghar is shaped as a pyramid


  • Puja ghar should not be in a floor above, below or next to the Toilet, bathroom or kitchen room


  • Idols should not be facing each other
